Kiefer Sutherland Beaten by Dr. Who For TV’s Coolest

by on March 29th, 2007

Dr. Who TV's Coolest

I’ve never watched Dr. Who myself, but I know my parents and brother really like it.  Could Dr. Who really be cooler than Jack Bauer though?

ACTOR David Tennant’s portrayal as Doctor Who has been voted the `coolest TV character’.

The time-travelling doctor beat federal agent Jack Bauer, played in the hit US show 24 by Kiefer Sutherland.

Salford-born Christopher Eccleston, the actor Tennant replaced in the BBC sci-fi show, did not make the top 10.

The radiotimes.com poll was conducted to find TV’s `coolest’ character, defined as laid-back and sexy.

The Fonz in the 70s show Happy Days, played by Henry Winkler, came third.

Colin Firth’s heart-fluttering turn as Mr Darcy in the TV adaptation of Jane Austen favourite Pride And Prejudice was fourth, while chauvinist cop Gene Hunt, played by Philip Glenister in Manchester-based Life On Mars, was sixth.

No women made it into the top 10 list.
