Monday Declared Chloe Day

How cute! Mary Lynn Rajskub is being honored by her home town:
The forever-frowning Chloe O’Brian from TV’s "24" was missing from Trenton City Hall on Monday night. She was replaced by actress Mary Lynn Rajskub, who beamed and occasionally covered her face during the standing-room-only ceremony in her hometown.
Monday was proclaimed Mary Lynn Rajskub Day to honor Trenton’s native daughter turned TV star. She also will be honored with half a dozen road signs indicating Trenton as Rajskub’s hometown.
"I’ve met a lot of famous people and got to do many things, but I never ever expected to be standing here," she said.
Rajskub (pronounced RICE-cub) was in town for her nephew’s high school graduation.
"This is the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me," she told the estimated 150 people who crowded council chambers to see the 1989 Trenton High School graduate.
"I’m a very grounded person because I grew up here," she said.
Though known as a dramatic actress, Rajskub also is a standup comedian. She entertained the crowd with frequent quips.
"I have a new bodyguard," she said, referring to Jim O’Brien, the embarrassed and beefy police officer assigned to escort her Monday night. "Officer O’Brien walked me in here. I’m taking him back to L.A."
Among her fans was Matthew Aluia, 13, who arrived at City Hall an hour before the 8 p.m. ceremony to get a seat.
"I like it when the action is getting started," said the seventh-grader who planned his Mondays around the TV show. "I like when people die and Jack gets angry."

A very well deserved honor. Sadly I didn’t know about it in time.
There was a Chloe Appreciation Day at the end of Season 6 since it seems sadly likely that was her last day on 24, BTW.

I am originally from Wyandotte, Michigan, but lived in Trenton, Michigan for 6 years. I’m glad that I was able to attend the Mary Lynn Rajskub day June 5. She seemed to be a very down to earth kind of girl. with a great sense of humour. I’.m glad I got to met her also and took a few pics with her. Now all that’s left is to meet Kiefer!
