Garofalo Joins 24

Michael Ausiello is reporting that Janeane Garofalo has joined the cast of 24. Garofalo will be a regular, and the only detail to leak is that she will be playing an FBI agent.

Garofalo was last seen on network television as a political strategist on The West Wing.

I’m going to sound very mean, but I’m not really looking forward to have her in season seven. It’s nothing I have against her, but I read those rumors over at the official 24 forum that Jack would probably have some sort of ‘love’ relationship with an FBI agent, which might be her. And because I’m a huge Jack & Audrey fan, and still hoping that she somehow returns to the show, I don’t really want to see anything romantically happen between this woman and Jack. Yes, I do want to see Jack happy but I also want Audrey to be happy and both can be, together! But that’s just my opinion. She may rocks! But for now, that’s the way how I feel about this news.

I seriously doubt she will be a love interest. Garofalo tends to play asexual characters on television. Odds are, she’ll be his FBI Chloe.

Well, if she’s going to be the “FBI Chloe” for Jack, than she’s probably going to be a nice new character in the show. I mean, I like Chloe’s character and the way she always helps Jack, even though she’s putting herself into a lot of trouble by helping him. But if she ever tries to kiss him, it would be great if he pulls away, like Jack did with Marilyn. I mean, I heard it were only going to be months after season six so, he may still be “recovering” from his goodbye with Audrey and he may not be over her yet. Maybe he misses Audrey too much and wants her back. Anyway, I like your odds better than the ones I read at the official 24 forum, Diana. :-)

I’m hoping Garofalo will be some kind of kick-ass agent for the good guys. All of the competent ladies on 24 have either been on the side of the bad guys (Nina Meyers, Mandy) or computer nerds (Chloe).
