When Liberals Invade 24
A lot has been said about Jeneane Garofalo’s addition to the 24 cast. A surprisingly high amount of bloggers speculated that it was such a ridiculous stretch that a liberal actor could appear on a conservative show….yeah, some people aren’t so bright. The New Republic took a different approach, an entertaining approach, enlisting Simpsons writer Daniel Chun to draft his take on Garofalo’s addition. I know the producers are conservatives and everything; but exactly what about the show is conservative? The Palmers were certainly liberal, anti-war presidents. Other than that, why is a show about a guy fighting off terrorism have to have a political lean? I’m a flaming liberal, so as long as the producers keep the overtly-conservative crap out of the show, I’m ok.
