24 to Premiere January 13th, 2008 (Spoilers)

Like seasons prior, 24 will premiere on Sunday January 13th, and continue to its regular Monday time slot on January 14th. Yesterday, FOX sent out this very interesting press release announcing the plot of Season 7, and confirmed a rumoured character return.
MAJOR SPOILER BELOW:
“Day 7” of 24 will continue the show’s unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements. With CTU dismantled, the show’s setting moves to Washington, DC, where JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) faces trial for his actions in the pursuit of justice. Bauer’s day gets off to a shocking start when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard), last seen in “Day 5,” returns after being left for dead by a terrorist conspirator in CTU’s infirmary.
“Tony’s uncertain fate near the end of ‘Day 5’ left the door open for his return,” said executive producer/show-runner Howard Gordon. “And since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance – the 24 tribute to a major character’s demise – we always kept this as a possibility.”
So it’s official, Tony’s coming back. After you finish either squealing and/or cursing, drop me a line and let me know how you feel about this recent development.
I don’t know what to think cause they have done pretty unbelievable things before, and I am willing to let this just roll of my back but it all has to do with the way they explain it and how it is handled. It definitely makes me want January to be here now thou. I need new 24.

YEAAAAAAH I’m SOOOO happy to read that Tony’s coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don’t want to know how I feel right now about this news and words can’t even explain it!!! It’s sooooo great!!! And it’s also the first exciting news that I’ve heard for 24’s new season so far!!
Anyway, YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!! I’m so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D
I don’t care what ridicilous plot will they use for bring Tony’s back, this is the best news ever!!!!!!! Is Tony Almeida back in action!!!!!!! yayyyyyyyyyy
OMG!!!! I am soooo happy that Tony is coming back!! I had always heard rumors that he was possibly coming back but i never knew whether or not to believe them. I cannot believe that they are actually bringing him back! This is such great news, and definitely the highlight of my day!!!! Now I am even more excited for the S7 premiere. I wish January would come faster.

I’m not a big fan of these continuously less realistic character developments, though I am a big fan of Tony, it just seemed like he was pretty dead. I’m sad about no more CTU, but this show definately needed to be shaken up after last season, so at this point, any change is good change.
One of the things that makes 24 interesting to me was that the writers did not not show any hestitation in killing off some of the stars thereby giving previously unknown actors a chance at some glory. While I realize that you can not kill off Jack everyone else had to take there chances. I hope that 24 keeps this recurring theme and minimizes the number of actors that last forever on the series. There are more actors to go around.

OMFG! THIS JUST FIXED MY DAY! I just came from watching Prison Break and today is when…Hmm…If anyone hasn’t seen it yet I don’t wanna give it away…But it was really sad! AND NOW I’M UBER HAPPY AND I WILL BE ABLE TO FALL ASLEEP! Actually….Probably not, I’ll be too excited! Tony was my all time favorite until he ‘died’! I haven’t seen all the seasons, but I do know TONY ROCKS!
Yes so happy, its just not 24 with Tony Almeida. He is what made the show what it was, and come on Jack is good but he needs back up every now and then. Just go back to season 4 when Jack called Tony to come and save the day.

he is BACK and there is absolutely no words I can find to express HOW FREAKING EXCITED I AM.
he was the GREATEST CHARACTER in the history of the show 24 and he was my FAVORITE CHARACTER of all time on 24…
the producers gave him a meaningless and stupid death in season 5 and consequently season 6 sucked cuz there was no TONY.
now the producers actually did something right again…
by bringing TONY ALMEIDA back to SAVE SEASON 7 of 24 from being as terrible as season 6.

Im all happy for the return of Tony but what about Audrey? Are they gonna keep her character all out of whack?! After all Jack has done, I think they should at least give his character a break and give him a little hope of happiness…..jeez!!!!
I agree with Cassie, and I do indeed want to see Audrey and Jack be happy despite all the DRAMA!!! I don’t know how they are going to pull off bringing Tony back, but hey… More power to the producers because his character was great!!!. I was also wondering if they could bring Kim back and give a little more insight about the breakup with Chase and the baby.. All in all 24 ROCKS!!!!!!!

It’s awful that Tony is bad! He’s my favorite agent..next to Jack! I’m just glad that he’s back though..bad or no!
I think the “24″ writers are making a major, MAJOR mistake to make Tony a “bad guy”. Unless, of course, it turns out he’s undercover or something! To Tony Clarke — Yeah, that Season 4 scene when Tony Almeida saves the day — one of the greatest in all of 24! Which is saying a lot — I have all 5 seasons on DVD. Can’t hardly wait for Season 6 on DVD — or Season 7 to start!

And that one scene that he saves the day in season 4 is my favorite! He’s so hot when he runs! now he’s stupid for going up against Jack…Hot but very stupid. hehe
I hope season seven is the redeeming season after the semi-pathetic season six…and with Tony coming back, it might just be! although, i do agree with some that it just gets ridiculously unbelievable at sometimes…but it’s okay, just for tony!
I have some quite depressing news! Kiefer Sutherland has been caught driving drunk. He was thrown in jail for 45 days!!!! Because of this, they need to wait an extra month before starting 24 once more…
I just want to know one thing because of this writers strike will 24 still be starting January 13th or will it be pushed back?
I thought he did die, when Jack shot him!?
