24 Topping Worst of 2007 Lists

by Diana on December 21st, 2007

As I mentioned earlier today, Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune put season 6 of 24 on her Low Point’s of 2007 list.  Now, Alan Sepinwall of the Newark Daily Ledger has put 24 on his Dishonor Roll, shaming the show by saying,

The writers of “24,” for following their best season with their worst. They set off a nuke in Valencia in episode four and had nowhere to go from there. They revealed that the previous season’s evil mastermind was actually Jack Bauer’s brother, then killed him off two episodes later for no reason. They brought back President Logan just to kill him, without ever mentioning him again. They gave us the most uninspiring supporting cast yet, and a nuclear suitcase plot so boring that they cut it short and devoted the season’s final seven episodes to a completely unconnected story. Even by the write-as-you-go standards of “24,” it was a mess.

That’s got to sting for “24″ fans. On the plus side, I’ve never heard of either Maureen Ryan or Alan Sepinwall before, so their opinions only matter so much!

I have to agree season 6 was bad. From adding characters like Nadia and Mike Doyle, who had the personalities of cardboard or the return of the ever annoying Milo(but at least they killed him off). The most infuriating thing was that they sidelined Chloe for some unknown reason. Next season whenever that is, no Nadia or Mike, and give Chloe more to do.
