Kiefer Sutherland’s a Monster or an Alien

March 12, 2008 by Diana

DreamworksAnimationLogoKiefer Sutherland has joined the cast of Dreamworks Animation’s Monsters vs. Aliens. The movie, according to Variety, “centers on California girl Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon), who is unexpectedly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk and mysteriously grows to 50 feet tall. She is captured and held in a secret government compound. The world learns that the military has been quietly rounding up other monsters over the years.”

Sutherland will play General W.R. Monger, presumably one of the military leaders who’s up to no good. Aside from Witherspoon, he’ll be joined by House’s Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Raine Wilson.

The release is scheduled for May 27, 2009, and will be the first Dreamworks film to be produced with Ultimate 3-D Technology. And no, that’s not a fake term I just made up.
