Kim Raver’s Baby Shower Press Stunt
Ah the joys of being a celebrity, photographers follow you everywhere. Even your baby shower. Although in the case of Kim Raver it looks like she turned her baby shower into a photo opportunity to promote her show, Lipstick Jungle, by posing with creator Candice Bushnell, and co-star Brooke Shields. Celebrities are odd creatures I will never understand. Check out the photos below:
What do you guys think about this press move? I can’t exactly criticize it, since I just posted the pics and promo’d her show. In other words, I did exactly what NBC wanted.

I’m beginning to think that this is Lipstick Jungle’s website and not 24. Not everyone is interested in Lipstick Jungle. Maybe you should start a website for Lipstick Jungle instead of posting all of this on 24s. It would be greatly appreciated.

Kim Raver plays a critical character from 24. This site is made for 24 news, and 24 related news. This article is under the related news, since Kim Raver is apart of 24.
Now onto the subject at hand. Celebrities NEVER stop working. As soon as they leave their house, they represent their career and everyone and everything involved in it. Posing for pictures, and having publicized parties is a way to get noticed, and to promote their work. Though, it sounds crazy, obviously it works. :)

Also, I wanted to add something else. “groundhogday,” there are plenty of other 24 sites you can go to, that are strictly 24 news. Look them up, I know they’re out there. As you know, 24 is off the air for awhile, so keeping us 24 fans happy, this webmaster has decided to share with us all sorts of 24, and 24 related news. Even going as far as doing episode reviews of the first season. Why on earth would you tell them that they should stop posting stories about Lipstick Jungle? This is their site, which means they get to do with it what they want. If you don’t like it, don’t come to this website anymore. Just like if you didn’t like a TV show…would you watch it?…no. That simple.
Btw, Diana, thanks for being apart of a great website, and posting this article. I didn’t even know Kim was pregnant.

Thanks for the kind words Lucas. Unfortunately, if I were only to post 24 news directly related to the show, this site would see very little action. I try to do my best to give people something a little broader. I don’t expect everyone to like it, but if they keep coming back to the site anyway, it’s not really a concern.
GroundhogDay, as for why I continue to post Raver related news, like Lucas said, at one time she was a big part of 24. I have cut down on my Lipstick Jungle posts recently because I try to keep the site as on topic as possible, but I didn’t really consider this post very Lipstick Jungle centric. It was more a comment on the nature of celebrity. Plus, lots of people find this site through search engines while they’re looking for Lipstick Jungle related news.

Thanks for your kind words! You are right, I never watched Lipstick Jungle and hope I never do. Maybe I should find another website too like you said. I really did like this website until all this Lipstick Junge stuff began to rule. Kim Raver is not part of 24 anymore, or are they going to bring her back? Diana, you’re right that this post wasn’t really about Lipstick Jungle, but I recall another posting where you got into the details of the episode, which i thought was going too far. Well, I don’t know what I’m going to do as far as visiting this website. You are not the one who told me to go take a hike, it was some other person, so maybe I’ll check back some time. I know that there isn’t alot of 24 news right now, but hopefully, like you said, they’ll be starting back up in April.

Groundhogday,
I hope you do continue to visit the site, and I don’t think it’s right for one reader to ever tell another whether to stay or leave. But I will continue to post news about actors on 24, even after they are gone. If Lipstick Jungle ends up returning for a 2nd season, I’ll probably post on that as well. Until I get more feedback from readers about how much they want to know about the show. That’s why I have a Lipstick Jungle page that people can go to that I try to update, so it’s not on the main page. I promise you this though, when 24 news does come in, I won’t be posting as much about the actors’ personal lives. Personally, I’m not fond of it, but in the off season it’s often the only thing to write about.
I’m doing 24rewatch to try to add some original content during the off season, and in the next few weeks I’ll be adding some other regular stories.

Hi Diana
I did come back and was glad to hear from you. I would probably rewatch the old seasons too and think that it’s a good idea to do so, but I won’t because I watched all of the seasons in 2007. Yea, my husband and I started watching Season 6 in Jan. 07 because I kept hearing how good it was and we got hooked (even in the worst season, we got hooked!) Then a client of mine told me to rent the other seasons and I wasn’t sure about it, but then when summer came around and we had free time, we decided to rent Season 1. My 12 year old son started watching it too and then we all got hooked. My son loves Jack Bauer. We watched Seasons 1 though 5 and then after that when we needed our 24 fix, we rented season 6. So, you can see that we are all hooked!
