24 Headed to Africa After All

It’s no secret that the producers of 24 initially wanted Season 7 to start in Africa, but the idea was shot down by Fox executives. Now 24 executive producer Manny Coto is saying that idea hasn’t entirely been thrown away. Apparently the two hour season 7 prequel that will air sometime this fall will feature Jack Bauer in Africa. According to Coto, Jack’s “a soul in turmoil and has been moving from place to place trying to find somewhere he can be at peace. But he winds up in Africa in the middle of a military coup.”

How will this tie into Season 7? Apparently Jack’s spiritual journey occurs just when he’s summoned to speak in front of the Senate about his torturing past, which is something we saw in the season 7 teaser trailer.

Jack in a military coup? Sounds interesting, but hopefully they’ll be able to weave in other 24 characters. If it’s just two hours of Jack kicking ass, I may be a little disappointed. I said a little.

I really dont care what the prequal is about. Im just gonna be pissed if it doesn’t tie into season 7. The season 6 and the season 5 prequals didnt tie into those season.

It could be about Jack doing standup comedy in front of a brick wall for all I care and I’ll still be glued. My question is, will the damn thing be shown in Australia? The others weren’t but they were also shorter ones. This being a film makes it that bit more likely but I just don’t see the network that broadcasts the show caring about showing a prequel when they’d be more worried about other big time shows on their schedule. Which leads me to ask, how the hell will I be able to watch it? There must be a way to download it somehow as everyone seems to be downloading tv show episodes.
Could you possibly keep me in the loop on this front, Diana?

If you’re in the United States, Hulu will be streaming the episodes once they air. If you’re not in the United States and are doing it illegally, there are streaming sites where you could search, or torrents you could download.
