Sources have confirmed exclusively to Entertainment Weekly that after six seasons in Los Angeles and one in D.C., “24” is moving to New York – at least on screen.

The show will still be primarily shot in Los Angeles, but will also include some New York footage.

Production on Day 8 gets underway next month, but already details are emerging. In addition to the move to the Big Apple, CTU will make a comeback under the leadership of a new, yet-to-be-cast male character by the name of Brian Hastings. Described as an MBA type with a razor sharp intellect, Hastings will be joined by two new twentysomething agents (one male, one female), as well as Mary Lynn Rajskub’s returning Chloe.

What are your thoughts about the move?

This is amazing news!! I love that they are having another change of scenery and that CTU is coming back. The FBI just wasn’t cutting it for me this season. CTU is basically a character in itself and I feel like it has been the biggest thing missing this season.
