Tony’s Fate - 24 Season 7

May 15, 2009 by Nikki Katz

CarlosBernard_0042_djrV1f.jpgSo what is going to happen to Tony Almeida in this season?

Kiefer Sutherland admitted that Carlos Bernard wasn’t expecting fans to hold him personally accountable for his character’s actions. “Two episodes in he started getting hate mail,” he said. “Then he started getting the hate phone calls. It made him a little nervous.

Carlos views Tony as a victim. “I don’t perceive Tony as evil. He’s gone through really traumatic events. He’s a damaged individual. He’s a guy who doesn’t trust anybody anymore, feels abandoned and feels he has to take matters into his own hands.

Exec producer Jon Cassar urges viewers to reserve judgment until after Monday’s finale. “I know right now they are kind of upset that he’s bad, but it all kind of becomes clear in episode 24. We really wanted [the season] to end with Tony and Jack, and that’s how it’s going to end.

Howard Gordon was slightly less apologetic. “If people are disappointed or don’t like [how Tony's arc is resolved], too bad.

What Did You Think of Kim’s Return?

April 14, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Last night (April 13) on “24”, Jack Bauer’s daughter made her return. What was Jack’s reaction to hearing about Kim. He wasn’t happy.

24: SEASON 7: Jack (Kiefer Sutherland, R) reunites with his daughter Kim (guest star Elisha Cuthbert, L) in the "1:00 AM - 2:00 AM" episode of 24 that aired Monday, April 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2009 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Kelsey McNeal/FOX

"I am dying!" he told the FBI agent who broke the news "Do not drag my daughter into this!"

Jack was exposed to a deadly biochemical weapon and through stem-cell therapy, his daughter may be able to help him.

Here’s what Jack had to say to Kim about that:

"I’m dying, and whatever small chance there is to stop that from happening is not worth the pain to let you sit there and watch me die.”

In this episode Jack Bauer endures the elements and fights on to prevent an attack that could change the country forever. Meanwhile, the stakes are raised when the administration is faced with a blackmail scenario.

Will Jack Bauer Die?

April 6, 2009 by Julie Bonner

24: SEASON 7: Jack (Kiefer Sutherland, C) is examined by the hazmat team in the "11:00 PM - 12:00 AM" episode of 24 that aired Monday, March 30 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2009 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Kelsey McNeal/FOX
That’s the big question everyone is asking: Will Jack Bauer Die? If you watch the show, then most likely your assumption is yes. Most viewers think that he will die because, well, it’s Jack Bauer.

The bigger question is when…season 7, season 8? Here’s an idea from Buddy TV if Jack were to go in season 7.

I’d always assumed his death would come in the final hour of 24’s final season. A reasonable assumption because, well, 24 isn’t 24 without Jack Bauer. It cannot exist without Kiefer Sutherland – Force of Nature. But, there are ways around this, ways that I have only recently considered. If the writers have agreed with the previous sentiment, that Jack Bauer will inevitably be subject to an on-screen death, the only question is when exactly to drop the guillotine. The last episode of the final season? Too predictable. Not the 24 way. Why not in the final episode of a season that we all know is not the series’ final one? This is why, even though 24 will begin shooting its eighth season in May, I think there’s a very real possibility that Jack will perish by the end of this season, the show’s seventh.

Why can’t season eight go back in time? Why can’t season eight be a prequel?

The Latest 24 Spoilers! It’s a Kim/Jack Bauer Reunion

April 1, 2009 by Nikki Katz

24: Season 7
Spoilers

Matt Mitovich with TVGuide spills on the latest 24 news.

When will Kim Bauer be coming back to 24? And will it have anything to do with the bio-weapon Jack has been exposed to?

When I asked Kiefer Sutherland about the nature of Kim’s latest encore (slated for mid-April), he said, “Something has happened to Jack, and it’s he who asks for her — normally it’s the other away around.” Kiefer went on to call the father-daughter reunion “very human and real … a part of the show I’m excited for the audience to see.” So your theory sounds about right.

Are you excited to see the reunion?!?

James Morrison Talks Character’s Death

March 12, 2009 by Nikki Katz

James Morrison talks about his character’s demise on this week’s episode of 24.

You’re expecting your demise from the minute you walk onto this show. You’re taught to know that that’s what’s going to happen to you. And they don’t miss an opportunity to let you know that it could happen to any minute!

James said his only concern was that it was a good death. He says that the arc they created for the character was complete.

Would You Watch “24″ Without Jack Bauer?

March 9, 2009 by Julie Bonner

I am curious. Would you watch “24″ without Jack Bauer? It seems that one guy at TV Squad would. He says that last Monday;s two-parter showed that the show can be just as good without Jack.

Don’t get me wrong, Season 7 is shaping up to be the second best season of the series so far (sorry, I don’t think it will be possible to top Season 5), but what Monday’s two-parter showed me was that 24 can be just as compelling without Jack Bauer. For the first hour of the night Jack was behind bars or being lead around by Secret Service agents. And yet there was plenty of action and excitement to keep the adrenaline pumping. Annie Wersching is a blast to watch as FBI Agent Renee Walker. Her ballsy dive both onto Juma’s boat and off of it was pure Bauer.

He goes on to say that he would trust the production and writing team with just about anything.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Could “24″ survive without Jack Bauer?
