Entertainment Weekly Loves Their Cherry Jones

She may not have made her first appearance on 24, but Cherry Jones continues to rack up the critical acclaim. Entertainment Weekly recently released their ‘50 Actors We’d Watch in Anything’ list, and Cherry Jones was right up there. Here’s what EW had to say, “her Broadway star has shined with Tony award-winning lead roles in Doubt and The Heiress, but this serious character actress brings it in small roles, too, like M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village and Signs. Plus, we’re happy to let her be our Commander in Chief, and next winter she’ll do just that, playing the first lady president on Fox’s 24.”
A few months ago I ran a poll on 24HQ asking you guys what new cast member you were most excited about and Jones won hands down. So there’s no doubt that her skills will be put to good use on 24 in the new year.
Cherry Jones is Proud of Allison Taylor
Little is currently known about what type of President Cherry Jones’ Allison Taylor will be in the 7th season of 24, but Jones recently told More magazine that if Taylor were her President she’d be “someone I’d feel immensely comfortable with.” I’m taking that to mean that Taylor will most likely be a Democrat, considering Jones’ politics tend to lean that way.
