24: SEASON 7: Jack (Kiefer Sutherland, R) and Renee (Annie Wersching, L) help Tony eliminate the bioweapon canisters at the Starkwood compound in the "1:00 AM - 2:00 AM" episode of 24 that aired Monday, April 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2009 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Kelsey McNeal/FOX
Sources have confirmed exclusively to Entertainment Weekly that after six seasons in Los Angeles and one in D.C., “24” is moving to New York – at least on screen.

The show will still be primarily shot in Los Angeles, but will also include some New York footage.

Production on Day 8 gets underway next month, but already details are emerging. In addition to the move to the Big Apple, CTU will make a comeback under the leadership of a new, yet-to-be-cast male character by the name of Brian Hastings. Described as an MBA type with a razor sharp intellect, Hastings will be joined by two new twentysomething agents (one male, one female), as well as Mary Lynn Rajskub’s returning Chloe.

What are your thoughts about the move?

Season 8 of “24″ is Confirmed!

February 27, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Executive producer Howard Gordon has confirmed that season 8 of “24″ is a go! It’s literally just around the corner.

“We’re gearing up for a May start date. I’m with the writers now just putting our heads together, coming up with an idea. Unless we fail to come up with an idea that’s satisfactory, you’ll see an eighth season.” says Gordon.

In other great “24″ news, Annie Wersching is confirmed to be returning for season 8, which mean love may be in the air for Jack Bauer! Gordon also gave us a little tease that season 8 could include a death. Who’s? Jack’s?

“We may decide ultimately if there’s not a movie [story] worth telling, Jack may see his last day on television. He could die in the series…I think that’s possible,” Gordon said.

Are you excited about season 8?

Robin Williams Begs for a Role on “24″

February 18, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Robin Williams recently begged for a role on “24″ while chatting with TV Guide. He said, “I would play a technical adviser. Anything.”

What does Kiefer Sutherland think? He would love it!

“It would be an honour (to have him on the show). You’re talking about an Academy Award-winning actor with no lack of energy, which is what we require.

“Robin could be an innocent computer analyst who stumbles onto something cryptic… and becomes a target. (My character) Jack Bauer, the government and the bad guys are all looking for this guy, who is scared to death and running for his life.”

Williams is no stranger to TV dramas. He may be best known for his comedy, but he does an excellent job when it comes to drama. Last year, he won acclaim after he played a deranged character on the 200th episode of Law & Order: SVU.

Robin Williams on “24″…what do you think about that?!

24 Headquarters Closing Shop

July 31, 2008 by Diana

Hey all,

Unfortunately 24Headquarters will cease updating as of today.  In fact, this is my last post as editor.

The good news is the blog will stay up, so you can look through past stories and comment to heart’s content.  There’s a good chance it will be back in action before 24: Exile premieres at the end of November, so stick around.

Until then I encourage you all to visit Penny Keating’s Kiefer Sutherland Fansite, Spoiler TV and to update your google news readers.

I want to thank everyone for being so awesome, I think 24HQ has a really great community and even though the show has been off the air for such a long period of time, you guys are still passionate about it.  I don’t think most show’s would have the same dedicated audience.

Thanks Guys!

24 at Comic Con Time Details

July 13, 2008 by Diana

ComicConI previously reported that 24 would be at Comic Con on July 25th but now the panel time has been announced, 5:30pm-6:30pm.  Kiefer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard are the only confirmed attendees, but I would expect a lot of creative team behind the show to appear as well.

Comic Con, which is the largest comic book convention in the world, takes place in San Diego, California from July 24th to 27th.

24 to be at ComicCon 2008

June 20, 2008 by Diana

ComicConSan Diego’s ComicCon International has always been Mecca for comic book fans, but tv show panels have been growing in popularity the past few years. 24 director Jon Cassar and writers David Fury, Evan Katz, and Manny Coto appeared at last year’s festival, answering fan questions for an hour.

Now comes news from Kristen at E!Online that 24 will once again return to the Con, which is taking place from July 24th to 27th. 24’s panel will take place on July 25th, with an exact time and panel details still to be announced.

ComicCon is often the place where exclusive news breaks, so I’d expect that we’d get either a clip of season 7, or at the very least, some juicy details.

24: The Musical (Season 2)

May 30, 2008 by Diana

We all saw Kim Bauer battle the mountain lion and the bear trap, and hated it.  But what if that battle involved Bauer breaking out into song, would you hate it then?  I sure wouldn’t.  Leave it to the internet to produce a musical based on the 2nd season of 24, and Kim’s duet with the mountain lion is appropriately titled “Bring It On.”

24 Season 2: The Musical is written my Jon and Al Kaplan, and features performances inspired by Jack Bauer, David Palmer, Kim Bauer,  Tony Almeida, Michelle Dresler, George Mason, Nina Meyers and even Mandy.  It’s fun, satirical, and obviously created by people who love 24.  I encourage all of you to check it out.

24 is the 8th Best Show Ever

April 29, 2008 by Diana

24logoReally, it made the top 10. At least according to the New York Post’s list of the Greatest TV Shows in history. Why’d they rank 24 near the top? Well, because it “shamed other cop dramas with its movie-size action, its breakneck plotting, but most of all its immediacy. After 24, you can’t pretend your characters don’t live in the real world. Now, the clock is always ticking.”

So now I throw this out to you, my totally biased audience, do you think 24 belongs near the top of the best shows in TV history? I’m not entirely sure, decade yes, but of all time?

Kate Beckinsale Loves 24

March 22, 2008 by Diana

Actress Kate Beckinsale admitted this week while doing press for her new movie ‘Snow Angels’ to having a little 24 problem.  ‘I’m compulsively addicted to ‘24.’ I love that show. Just hearing the music of it makes me feel so confident … [Maybe] I can be the head of CTU,” said Beckinsale.

What do you guys think, does Kate Beckinsale have what it takes to be on 24?  I think her past in the Underworld movies makes her just badass enough to be worth a shot.

Thanks for the tip Michael!

Ausiello on Season 7’s Return

January 16, 2008 by Diana

When asked about the return of 24, Ausiello said, “Well, although Fox hasn’t confirmed it, I’ll go out on a limb and say Jack Bauer isn’t returning this season. Even if the strike ends tomorrow, the earliest the show could get back on the air is this summer — and there’s no way in hell Fox is dumping 24 onto the summer season.”  With that, he gave two possible solutions for return of 24.   First, the show could premiere in January of 2009, as many expect it to.  The second idea is to divide the 7th season into two separate arcs, therefore compromising the 24 episode a season format.

Neither of these ideas are ideal, but I would much rather a further delayed complete season, rather than a fractured season that would go against the core of the show.  What do you guys think?
