Tony’s Fate - 24 Season 7
May 15, 2009 by Nikki Katz
So what is going to happen to Tony Almeida in this season?
Kiefer Sutherland admitted that Carlos Bernard wasn’t expecting fans to hold him personally accountable for his character’s actions. “Two episodes in he started getting hate mail,” he said. “Then he started getting the hate phone calls. It made him a little nervous.”
Carlos views Tony as a victim. “I don’t perceive Tony as evil. He’s gone through really traumatic events. He’s a damaged individual. He’s a guy who doesn’t trust anybody anymore, feels abandoned and feels he has to take matters into his own hands.”
Exec producer Jon Cassar urges viewers to reserve judgment until after Monday’s finale. “I know right now they are kind of upset that he’s bad, but it all kind of becomes clear in episode 24. We really wanted [the season] to end with Tony and Jack, and that’s how it’s going to end.”
Howard Gordon was slightly less apologetic. “If people are disappointed or don’t like [how Tony's arc is resolved], too bad.”

“24” Season 7 Finale Screening
May 13, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Today (May 13) was the “24” season 7 finale screening and DVD launch party celebration. Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carlos Bernard and other cast members were at the Wadsworth Theater in Los Angeles.
Kiefer Sutherland didn’t answer any questions about the attack at the MET which left designer Jack McCollough with a broken nose.
He said, "I’m not really in a position to comment until the situation is really dealt with, but I’ve felt a lot of support and I’m grateful for that".
It was great to see all of the cast members together. Photos below!
Where is Jack Bauer Headed?
May 13, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Kiefer Sutherland recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about his character Jack Bauer and where he’s headed. If you don’t like spoilers, DO NOT READ!
EW caught up with Kiefer at the Season 7 finale screening and asked him about some of the biggest twists of the season and of course, what the future holds.
Oh, and (SPOILER ALERT) fans, you can breathe easy: Executive Producer Howard Gordon told EW that Jack will live to see the sunrise at least once more.
EW asked, “What’s it like to have Jack on the verge of death right now?”
Here’s what Kiefer had to say:
It has to go in stages and you just try to monitor in your head where physically you are with the character. From a dramatic perspective, it’s a great dynamic to be able to play that, certainly in the context of the relationship between Jack and his daughter. I have a 21 year old daughter and a 31 year old daughter, and I found that to be moving personally as a man. All of those things I was very excited to do.

Recap
Thanks to David G. for his recap:
“This recap is written in real time.”
At 4:00, Tony was still setting up his plan to set up Jibraan Al-Zarian to look like a terrorist. His home was even being re-decorated to look like an official terrorist video. Tony handed him a paper to read, and if he didn’t do everything they asked, they promised to kill his brother.
At FBI Headquarters, Jack told Chloe to start looking up several Muslim’s of high authority, or any recent immigrants from that country. Janis, spoke out to him, saying it was racial profiling. Jack agreed, but since this is “24”, it means they are always running out of time, and this was their best option. Chloe noticed Jack showing symptoms again, that is when Janis explained to her that Jack was sick. When confronted, Jack told Chloe that he would be dying soon, and there was no cure. Needless to say, Chloe’s classic pouty face got more pouty as she shed a tear for her beloved boss.
Back at his apartment, Al-Zarian was reading his script aloud to the camera. Outside, police officers showed up, walking up to his front door. Tony got him to explain to the officers that everything was alright. Even though he was nervous and sweating profusely, the cops thanked him and moved on. After they left, he went back to reading the script. After a few minutes of Googling Muslims at FBI Headquarters, Chloe found a number of sketchy bank statements pointing to Al-Zarian as the terrorist. So Jack and Renee went after the man immediately.
