It was announced yesterday that the title for the 24 season seven prequel to air in November, will be 24: Exile. Kevin Reilly told reporters at FOX’s Summer Press Tour that the prequel would “act as both a self contained movie, and a precursor to the new season.” He also added with some typical executive enthusiasm that it was going to “come back rockin’ and rollin, as well as being a really cool piece of business.”
Rumours are circulating that a trailer for 24: Exile will be unveiled at 24’s Comic Con panel on July 25th.

I previously reported that 24 would be at Comic Con on July 25th but now the panel time has been announced, 5:30pm-6:30pm. Kiefer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard are the only confirmed attendees, but I would expect a lot of creative team behind the show to appear as well.
Comic Con, which is the largest comic book convention in the world, takes place in San Diego, California from July 24th to 27th.

Star Magazine is reporting that Julia Roberts may be guest starring on the upcoming season of 24. Such a high profile guest appearance would be a big get for 24, and Roberts’ first television guest starring role since her appearance on on Law and Order in 1999.
But it would be tabloid fodder as well, since Roberts famously left Kiefer Sutherland at the alter for his best friend, Jason Patric in the early 90’s.
Considering Star is the only press reporting this, I think I’ll wait for a better source before I believe this one.

24 has been voted the fifth most patriotic show in the US, by the Denver Post. And the reason? Entirely because Jack’s made of awesome. “Jack Bauer is more than a one-man crusade against terrorism. He’s the latest Superman given to upholding truth, justice and the American way. Trouble is, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) has gone off course and is a rogue agent. A parable about the actions of the U.S.?,” said Post author Joanne Ostrow.
24 was beat by The West Wing, Homefront, Brooklyn Bridge, and Rescue Me. Should 24 have been higher on the list?

Jack Bauer has come in #2 in UK poll of TV best loved heroes, conducted by the Hallmark Channel. Bauer lost first place to Life on Mars detective Gene Hunt. Poppycock I say. I’m sorry, it’ s UK poll and I’ve been dying to use that word in this blog for a year. Rounding out the top three was David Tennant as Doctor Who.
What do you think, did Jack Bauer get robbed of first place? I think saving the world every day from terrorists is slightly more impressive than a time traveling detective. You?

Comic Con passes may be sold out, but if you’re really lucky you can snag yourself an all expenses paid trip to the Con courtesy of 20th Century Fox, and Kiefer Sutherland’s Mirrors. The trip is for two for the duration of the Con, $500 spending money, and a meet and greet with Mirrors director Alex Aja. 24’s Kiefer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard will also be at the Con, promoting the show.

In the market for a new lip gloss? Why not hit up Sephora’s Cargo Collection, a line of glosses designed by celebrities. Kim Raver’s gloss is Cherry Bliss (sheer cherry) and it retails for $20.
Cargo lip glosses are made from newable materials such as corn (for the tube) and flowers (for the gloss). $2 of each purchase goes to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Other celebrities contributing lipglosses include Evangeline Lily (Lost), Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) and even drama queen Lindsay Lohan. The glosses are available only at Sephora.

At least temporarily. Michael Ausiello is reporting that Mary Lynn Rajskub will be breaking from 24 mid season to have her baby, causing Chloe O’Brian to exit as well. Why will Chloe be leaving? (SPOILER WARNING) Apparently she departs because of an emergency with her now four year old son, Preston O’Brian.
But who’ll help save the world since Chloe’s busy, you ask? Well apparently Carlo Rota (Morris O’Brian) will be returning the show after all. Last month I reporter that Rota wasn’t sure if scheduling would work out with 24 this season, and apparently it has. Morris will sub for Chloe while she’s out dealing with their son’s emergency.
It surely can’t be that big of an emergency if Morris can still help at non-CTU.
Are you guys excited that Rota’s returning, or did his season six appearance not make an impact?

Looking for something to watch on a rainy summer day? Well check out the Director’s Cut of Kiefer Sutherland’s 1998 sci-fi cult classic, Dark City. Dark City was about “A man who struggled with memories of his past, including a wife he cannot remember, in a nightmarish world with no sun and run by beings with telekinetic powers who seek the souls of humans.” Sutherland played a not so good Doctor in the film.
The director’s cut will feature three commentaries, an introduction by director Alex Proyas, making of featurette, trailers and more.
It’s a bargain on Amazon for only $11.99, If you want the Blu-Ray, that’ll cost you $18.95.

Check out the Bank of America ad below and let me know if the voice sounds familiar to you:
As for Bank of America’s comment on the mystery man, “The identity of the voiceover for our new campaign is known only to the most senior levels of the company. One would need to enlist the services of Jack Bauer to identify the source.”
Man, I love it when even corporate head honcho’s are 24 fanboy’s.
