Kiefer Sutherland turned himself into police on Thursday and was arrested and charged with assault for headbutting another man at a party in New York City.

Sutherland entered he building flanked by his lawyers. After answering questions from investigators, he was booked on one count of misdemeanor assault and issued an appearance citation, which allows the 24 star to travel until his June 22 arraignment.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Kiefer Sutherland is set to star in a new Joel Schumacher film, based on the Nick McDonell novel, Twelve.

Variety reports Chace Crawford, Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Ellen Barkin and Kiefer have joined the cast with production set to begin on April 20 in New York.

Jordan Melamed penned the script which is said to follow a high school dropout-turned-drug dealer. His lucrative life sours when the dealer’s cousin is brutally murdered on an East Harlem playground and his best friend is arrested for the crime. McDonell wrote his novel when he was only 17, which depicted teenage drug use and decadence on the Upper East Side.

I am curious. Would you watch “24″ without Jack Bauer? It seems that one guy at TV Squad would. He says that last Monday;s two-parter showed that the show can be just as good without Jack.

Don’t get me wrong, Season 7 is shaping up to be the second best season of the series so far (sorry, I don’t think it will be possible to top Season 5), but what Monday’s two-parter showed me was that 24 can be just as compelling without Jack Bauer. For the first hour of the night Jack was behind bars or being lead around by Secret Service agents. And yet there was plenty of action and excitement to keep the adrenaline pumping. Annie Wersching is a blast to watch as FBI Agent Renee Walker. Her ballsy dive both onto Juma’s boat and off of it was pure Bauer.

He goes on to say that he would trust the production and writing team with just about anything.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Could “24″ survive without Jack Bauer?

I tell you what. TMZ sure loves getting Kiefer Sutherland on video. It’s a rare occasion, so they milk it for everything they can. I watched an episode of TMZ the other night and they said that they always know when Kiefer has been drinking because he talks to them and is actually nice. What do you think about that statement?

TMZ caught up with Kiefer the other day in the early morning hours and asked him the question, “Who do you think if tougher…Jack Bauer or Christian Bale?” He chose not to comment.

They also asked him about the season finale of “24″ and again, he gave them no comment. I completely don’t blame him.

As he was walking away, Kiefer came back and shook hands with the paparazzi. Towards the end of the video, you can hear the camera man say, “He is totally toasted”.

Kiefer Sutherland did a promo for how “24″ is doing all it can on set to help with climate control.

Kiefer Sutherland was looking mighty fine as he was out and about in Beverly Hills, CA on February 25th. He was dressed up for a meeting at a restaurant and couldn’t find any change to feed the parking meter. Thanks to a helpful restaurant attendent who fed the meter for him, Kiefer was able to head to his meeting with no worries. He even shot the photographers across the street a smile.

Hey Kiefer Sutherland fans! I have two videos to share with you today. We didn’t see Kiefer walk the red carpet at the 2009 Oscars, but he did attend a party for a good cause. He attended Elton John’s party which supports AIDS research.

The Insider spoke with Kiefer at the party. He says, “I think Elton John has done so much work over the last past decade with regards to his AIDS foundation. Whether it was dealing with hospice care, whether it was dealing with research funding and I think that we have made a very dangerous mistake in the last 5 years. We’ve made great strides in helping people deal with the disease, but we are no closer to a cure and we have gotten this perception that it is a problem for Africa now, as opposed to the United States. It is a world global problem and I applaud Elton for all of his efforts to keep it in the spotlight and keep the awareness about it. I am very proud to be here for that.”

He goes on to talk about “24″. He said, “We hit a couple of rough spots from a lot of out viewers in season 6 and we really wanted to remedy that. I think the writers had a little more time with this season and they took advantage of it and we’re just really grateful that the fans came back to watch it.”

Kiefer Sutherland took part in the ArtiGras Celebrity Art Auction and drew this great little doodle. Isn’t it cute?! Hollywood’s biggest stars participate by drawing something and signing it. They are supposed to draw a one of a kind doodle.

Each piece is auctioned off during a silent auction and benefits the Heath Evans Foundation. Other celebrities who have drawn a special doodle are Donald Trump, Richard Petty and Dustin Hoffman.
