What Can You Expect from Tonight’s Episode?

April 13, 2009 by Julie Bonner

24-717_sc1736_112 This is a big night of television for “24” fans. Tonight’s episode has an emotional reconciliation, resolution, a central sequence you will love and at least one surprise. The whole hour is basically built around the showdown between the president (Cherry Jones) and Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight).

USA Today has an excellent article about tonight’s episode. Here’s an excerpt:

A great day is about to get better.

Indeed, anyone with any affection for 24 is likely to love tonight’s outing, which finds the series hitting one of its periodic reset buttons. But it’s more than just a pivotal episode; it’s a nearly ideal one, with some longed-for resolution, an emotional reconciliation, an exciting central sequence, and at least one surprise that’s sure to leave you gasping.

And yes, Kim returns. But before you scream "cougar" (poor Elisha Cuthbert, who was really more wronged than wrong), let it be said it’s a well-handled, sufficiently well-explained return. And for those who are invested in the series, a necessary one, as there were open questions between Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) and his daughter that needed to be answered.

What Do You Think of Sean?

February 18, 2009 by Julie Bonner

So far, it seems like season 7 of “24″ is pleasing the fans, but there is one character that is ruffling some feathers. Ryhs Coiro plays Sean Hillinger. One fan wrote into TV Guide about how they want this guy gone!

24 is totally back on track, but the one downside is Sean. I don’t know whether it’s the actor or the writing, but I do know I want that guy gone. Anything coming up that would make me a happy camper? — Mike
MATT: I suppose it would depend on whether Sean (aka he who has since been revealed as Moley McMoleberg) is truly traitorous or a red herring a la Season 6’s Nadia. My own moles (none of whom are played by Rhys Coiro, mind you) tell me that Agent Hillinger’s fate may be cinched during the game-changing back-to-back episodes airing March 2.

Would you be happy to see this character gone?

“24″ Spoilers for February 16th

February 16, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Are you enjoying season 7 of “24″? Well Nikki and I are excited about bringing you all of the scoop, spoilers, cast candids and video clips from the season. Be sure and keep visiting for all of your “24″ news!

Here are the latest spoilers from Ausiello, who has the inside scoop on everything!!

Question: Does First Husband Henry Taylor die on 24? Please say no. He is one of my new favorite characters! — Nicole

Ausiello: I’ll say this about Henry’s fate: Nothing. I will, however, divulge that his shooting leads to the introduction of First Daughter Olivia, played by Jericho’s Sprague Grayden. “She [became] estranged from the family during the campaign after a small scandal,” reveals exec producer Howard Gordon. “She’s adversarial and very formidable, and actually had a position of power in her mother’s campaign.” We’ll meet Olivia in Monday’s episode when a VIP who’s very familiar to 24 fans summons her.

Question: 24 scoop, please! This is the best season ever. What can you give us? — Robin
Ausiello: I thought I had the whole FBI mole situation figured out. I thought wrong.

Ah, that’s okay Ausiello!

Season 7 Gets Another Villain

July 30, 2008 by Diana

Well, he may just be a henchman.  Rory Cochran will join 24 playing an associate of Jonas Hodges.  Hodges, played by Jon Voight, was previously announced to be season seven’s big bad, a character Voight described as “a witty fellow, sarcastic perhaps. He’s intimidating because he plays it light, but he’s got a sharp barb – his tongue can hurt you. He’s got a sense of humor, but boy, he’s dangerous.” No doubt if Rory Cochran’s character is running with Hodges, he’s bad news.

Cochran is best known to television audiences as Tim Speedle on CBS’ CSI Miami.  His movie roles have included Dazed and Confused, Empire Records and A Scanner Darkly.

24 at Comic Con: Carlos Bernard is a Smart Ass

July 26, 2008 by Diana

Fox At Comic Con - 24 Panel

Shocking right?  Every time Carlos Bernard got asked a question at last night’s 24 panel at Comic Con, he responded back with something snarky.  Not mean snarky, just smart ass snarky.  When asked if he though Tony Almeida was really gone for good, Bernard simply replied with, “Never!”

His working relationship with the cast and crew has been something to contend with, says Bernard.  First of all, I have to go back and work with these people. I don’t care what they say, it’s not easy.  I have to work with Kiefer, it’s not easy.  I have to basically write the story for them.  Not easy.” He quickly followed it up with a laugh, “No, no, it’s been amazing.”

Everyone’s glad to have Carlos back as Tony, even if the idea of his resurrection confused Sutherland at first. “I said how?  But the way he came back was so extraordinary.  So very 24.”

Kiefer wasn’t telling the audience how or why it was so extraordinary, so we’ll have to wait until January 2009 to find out how Tony’s not only returned from the dead but is at first glance, Jack’s new nemesis.

Thanks to Nikki Katz for her great Comic Con coverage!

Martha Logan NOT Returning to 24

July 25, 2008 by Diana

JeanSmartMarthaLogan24Season5The last time we saw Martha Logan, she had jammed a kitchen utensil into her ex-husband’s neck.  At that moment, I knew it was true love.  Of course both Martha and President Logan’s fates were left dangling in season six, never to be mentioned again….  Yeah, I know, stupid right?  Well the past week or so, rumours have be circulating that Jean Smart may be making an appearance as Martha next season, but Ausiello reports that that rumour is indeed FALSE.

However, that doesn’t mean we’ll never hear about what happened to our favourite crazy blond.  Jon Cassar says that we will find out what happened to Martha next year.  Also, we’ll eventually get answers as to what happened to Charles Logan when the paramedics took the fork out as well.  But the time-line is a little less definitive on that one.

What do you think became of Martha?  Do you think Aaron gave up wrangling the crazy and put had her institutionalized?  Post your theories below.
